$6M in One Day: July 7 Is the Biggest Guarantee Day of the Summer

On July 7, four tournaments across two series will collectively guarantee more than $6 million in prize money — making it the single most loaded day of the 2026 Las Vegas poker summer by total guaranteed dollars.

That's not a typo. One date. Four events. Two venues. Six million guaranteed.

The July 7 Lineup

The WSOP's Event #71, a $1,600 Mystery Bounty with a $2.5M guarantee, is the single largest guarantee on the board that day. Its Day 1D turbo flight fires at 7:30 p.m. PT, while Day 2 of the same event runs concurrently starting at 1:00 p.m. PT — meaning both new entries and surviving stacks will be in action simultaneously.

Four events, two series, $6 million guaranteed — all on July 7.

Why July 7 Stands Out

The raw guarantee total tells only part of the story. What makes this date unusual is the overlap of two independent series converging on the same afternoon.

WSOP Event #75, a $2,200 NLH with a $2M guarantee, opens its Day 1A flight at noon. Three hours earlier, the DCPS fires its $1,100 Seniors event (Day 1A, $1M guaranteed) at 10:10 a.m. PT. And by 2:00 p.m., the DCPS $2,200 PLO Bounty resumes for Day 2 with $500K on the line.

That's four distinct player pools drawing from the same finite population of tournament grinders in Las Vegas on a single calendar date. Players with bankrolls deep enough for two or three of these will face genuine allocation decisions — especially anyone eligible for the Seniors event who also wants to fire the Mystery Bounty turbo flight that evening.

The Buy-In Spread

The buy-ins range from $960 (DCPS Seniors) to $1,985 (WSOP Event #75). A player who wanted to enter every event on July 7 would need $5,875 in total buy-ins — not counting rebuys, late registration, or the opportunity cost of skipping cash games on what will be one of the most crowded days of the summer at the Rio and Resorts World.

The median buy-in across the four events is $1,465. That's firmly in the mid-major zone — expensive enough to thin the recreational herd, cheap enough to pull serious-but-not-high-roller tournament players into multiple bullets.

What the Guarantee Stack Means

When $6M in guarantees concentrates on one date, two things happen.

First, overlay risk increases for operators. Each event needs to generate enough entries to cover its own guarantee independently. The DCPS Seniors at $960 effective buy-in needs roughly 1,042 entries just to meet its $1M floor. The WSOP Mystery Bounty, with its $2.5M guarantee at a $1,430 price point, needs approximately 1,748 entries across all flights. If July 7 cannibalizes entries from either side — WSOP pulling from DCPS or vice versa — at least one of these events is likely to carry overlay.

Second, EV-conscious players should be mapping this date now. Overlay opportunities don't get announced; they emerge when too many guarantees compete for the same pool of buy-ins on the same day. July 7 has the structural ingredients.
