DCPS Drops Two $1M Guarantees the Same Week WSOP Hits Peak Capacity

While the WSOP grinds toward its Main Event window, the DCPS just posted two separate $1 million guarantees at $1,100 and $1,600 buy-ins — both firing the week the Horseshoe's floor hits peak capacity.

DCPS 2026 Event #87, a $1,100 NLH MSPT, runs multiple Day 1 flights starting July 12. Flight 1B fires at 6:10 p.m. PT on July 12, with Flight 1C following at 10:10 a.m. PT the same day. The guarantee on that event: $1,000,000.

Four days later, Event #91 — a $1,600 NLH MSPT — opens its own Day 1B flight at 11:10 a.m. PT on July 16, carrying the same million-dollar guarantee.

The Scheduling Story

The timing isn't an accident. Mid-July is when Las Vegas poker hits critical mass: Main Event flights are running, side events are stacked wall-to-wall, and every off-strip room within driving distance tries to siphon overflow traffic.

The DCPS is betting that enough players — whether they bricked a Main Event flight, want a softer field, or just prefer a $1,100 price point to a $10K one — will choose the MSPT route. A million-dollar guarantee at this buy-in level means the DCPS needs volume, and they're banking on the WSOP crush to deliver it.

What to Watch

The real question is whether these guarantees hold or get smashed. At $960 net buy-in for the $1,100 and $1,420 net for the $1,600, the $1M line implies roughly 1,042 and 704 entries respectively just to meet the number. In peak-season Las Vegas, those are reachable — but not guaranteed.

Keep an eye on registration counts when Flight 1B of Event #87 fires on July 12. That first flight will tell you whether the DCPS is running a promotion or printing an overlay.
