DCPS 2026 Puts a $1M Guarantee on a $1,100 Seniors Event

The D.C. Poker Series just put a seven-figure guarantee on a seniors tournament.

Event #44 — a $1,100 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Seniors event — carries a $1,000,000 guarantee, with Day 2 scheduled for June 14 at 1:00 p.m. ET. At that price point, the field will need roughly 1,100 entries to cover the guarantee, depending on the rake structure.

Seniors events at that buy-in level rarely see seven-figure guarantees in the United States. The WSOP's annual $1,000 Seniors Championship — the most recognized seniors tournament in the world — has regularly cleared $1M in prize pools, but that field is driven by the WSOP brand and Las Vegas foot traffic during the summer series. Posting a comparable guarantee outside the WSOP umbrella, at a regional series, is a different bet entirely.

The $960 net buy-in (before fees) means the series is pricing the event accessibly for the 50-and-over demographic that typically populates seniors fields. Whether the D.C. market can generate the volume to meet the guarantee will be one of the more interesting data points of the summer.
